BNN cares not only about where a planet sits but about who stands on either side of it. This is kartari - the scissors - and it can squeeze or shelter.
Squeeze and shelter
Papkartari: a house or planet flanked by malefics on both sides feels pressure, delay and struggle before the result. Shubhkartari: flanked by benefics, it is protected, rescued, smoothed. One malefic and one benefic gives a push-pull tension.
The hero planet promises the event. The company it keeps decides how it unfolds.
This is why a 'difficult' placement is not a verdict. A feared Saturn can be shielded by benefics into something steady and safe; a 'good' planet can be squeezed into hardship. BNN reads the neighbours before it passes judgement.
