Planets have constitutions too: the dosha tally

Where Ayurveda meets the chart - and missing doshas matter most.
22 June 2026 by

Ayurveda sorts the body into Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Medical BNN gives each planet a constitution and lets them vote.

Who votes for what

Pitta (fire, inflammation): Sun, Mars, Ketu. Kapha (fluid, weight, hormone): Moon, Venus, Jupiter. Vata (nerve, motion, dryness): Saturn, Mercury, Rahu.

Tally the dominant planets and a constitutional picture emerges. Saturn and Rahu together pile up Vata - nerves, wind, restlessness. But the most overlooked signal is the missing dosha: a chart with no strong Pitta planet can show weak digestion and sluggish metabolism even with nothing 'afflicted' at all.

A missing dosha is like a missing planet - it shows where the body runs short.

This is a structured, non-alarmist way to think about constitution - tendencies, not fate.
