One of the most reassuring ideas in Medical BNN is also one of the least known: a chart does not show disease unless the disease houses are switched on.
The trigger gate
The 6th (illness), the 8th (crisis and surgery) and the 12th (release and hospitalisation) are the gate. A medical reading only fires when a planet is linked to one of them - by sitting there, by trine, by union with their lords, or by Yatra.
This means an empty, unafflicted 6th often signals exactly what it looks like: no chronic pattern pressing for attention. Planetary stress elsewhere does not automatically become illness. The gate has to open first.
Stress in the chart is not disease. Disease needs the gate.
It is a humane piece of logic - and a useful corrective to fear-based health astrology that finds catastrophe in every chart.
